First visitors for 2017

Father Tom brings a group from San Francisco every year, sometimes twice a year.

They will be our first visitors to the Yeats Experience in 2017.

I am planning the menu…Celeriac and Apple soup. Beef and Guinness Stew, then Tea/coffee and apple cake.

All 220 litres of apple juice from the orchard are gone but we still have delicious apples stored in the garage  hence the apple cakes made with apples, cinnamon ginger and our own lovely eggs.

I will use rib beef for the stew , it gives a great depth of flavour when cooked slowly in the Guinness.

I might bake a few wheels of soda bread to go with that.
